Our season begins just as our organization did, with the cantatas of J.S. Bach as its foundation. Bach’s energetic and forceful BWV 114 and ravishingly chromatic BWV 3 frame Frank Martin’s poignant last work, the stunning cantata “Et la vie l’emporta,” and select motets by the enigmatic Czech composer—and contemporary of Bach—Jan Dismas Zelenka.
