Lynn Torgove, stage director
Lynn Torgove has been a long-time member of the Cantata
Singers chorus and has been featured as a soloist in both the main series
and chamber series. Last year, Ms. Torgove directed Edward Cohen’s
premiere The Bridal Night with Collage New Music. As a singer, Ms. Torgove
was an original member of the Peter Sellars/Craig Smith production of
The Marriage of Figaro, broadcast on PBS. Other operatic roles include
Polly Peachum in The Three Penny Opera with American Repertory Theater
in Cambridge. Her upcoming season includes directing John Harbison’s
New Moon in March with Boston Modern Orchestra Project for the Opera Unlimited
Festival and Transformation by Conrad Sousa at the Walnut Hill School.
She is currently a faculty member of the Graduate Opera Studies program
at the New England Conservatory and director of the voice program at the
Walnut Hill School.
